Improve the computer lab! :) At the time I was studying (winter semester 99/00) the computer availability was low and not completely satisfactory...

I loved studying in Konstanz and I am sure you will too, especially if you like travelling around. Konstanz is truly located in the heart of Europe, although you have to go elsewhere (Zurich in Switzerland or Stuttgart/Frankfurt in Germany) to find a big international airport. Its closeness to Switzerland (15 mins with a bicycle!) makes it easy to go on short trips to this wonderful country and many others in Europe.

My language and communication experience was very good. I began with practically no knowledge of german, but after 10 months of study I was able to apply and get a traineeship in a german bank.

konstanz is a very nich city. The only unconfortable aspect has to do with travelling by train(because of the presence of the lake)...it takes a little more time than from other locations.Anyway there are several low cost companies flying from Friedrichshafen to the rest of europe

Make sure you look into more scholorships. It is not good to struggle for money while you are there. You should allow yourself to be as free as possible with travelling and getting to know the country and are really well. I recommend staying for at least one year. Anything less than one year would not give you very much in terms of the language, culture, or personal development.

My German improved dramtically in the time I spent at my host university. This was due to a mixture of both self- will and good DAF courses provided by the university.
