The city life of Antwerp
robine d
Belgium, Graduate
Business Studies, 2018
Overall
The university of Antwerp knows a very vibrant environment where I could distinguish myself culturally and professionally. The courses were taught in a very intense, but in also a very competent manner. The city itself is very international.

I find the hosting at the University of Antwerp - UA at a quite good level. Th responsible administrative person Anita Claessens helps and provides with information when it comes to accomodation issues. The university with its three campuses, which recently united into one and the city itself offer an unique international environment.

In terms of night life I equally prefer Ossenmarkt with its student cafes and pubs, my favourite one is Casa Vier, the pintje is the biggest there !!! Southern Antwerp is not to be estimated with its discos, I personally like going to Cafe Local. I have also played in almost all places with life music in the city (over 15 - Irish Times, Musem Van Schone Kunsten, etc.) with my band Jailhouse Chili. Carnavals was something that I tried not to miss. I often have attended the movie nights and activities organised by the local ESN network team and also by the Anwterpse Progressive Student organisation.

Although my knowledge of the language in my host countrry was not so in-depth I could make myslef understood and people were very helpful and obliging. The language of communication at the university was primarily English and I did not face any difficulties since I have been studying in England and my command of English is excellent.
