It's a great university, you know the people with whom you are in your courses, because courses take place in small groups, most of the professors are very friendly...

I would recommend to stay in a student residence, because you never feel alone. Moreover, you should look for a residence in the city centre and not outside of Antwerp (like in Wilrijk) because most of the student life is taking place in the centre. Brugge, Gent and Leuven are really nice cities.

Prospective Student of Antwerp University
Omaru M
Belgium, Graduate
Economics, 2019
Overall
Actually, I have not begun studies at Antwerp yet but will begin this September 2018, a one year Advanced Master in Maritime and Air Transport Management. University of Antwerp is my choice for the program I will be undertaking by September 2018. The program outline, the international and well experienced professors and the outstanding records of graduates from the program on the job market are my motivations.

Currently I hold a Master's degree in Economic Development and Growth from Turkey and also work at the Revenue Authority of my Country Liberia.

I wish I had known...
I have visited Belgium on a number of occasions prior to engaging in studies there.I liked the country and I did some research on the local history, cultrure and traditions beforehand. So, in this sense, I had a clear view of the contry and there is not anything I wish I had known in advance.

The university is truly international, yet more representatives from East European countries should be taken on board as that region is moving toward integration and enlargement.

Belgium is very commutable. The transportation system provides for an easy access to other European countries,i.e. The Netherlands, Germany, France.Prior knowledge of Dutch or/and French can be helpful, although the level of spoken English in Belgium is really high. Since there are a lot of opportunities to travel and visit places of interest, I suggest prospective students to plan beforehand.

Excellent University in a global port
Elias D
Belgium, Undergraduate
Business Studies, 2011
Overall
Antwerp has a broad range of talent working at its university. Both academical and professional, as the port offers great opportunity for academic-business synergy. The multiple institutes of higher education also provide an exciting student-life, offering insights in other fields of studies at the same time through mingling.

Diversity
Students are coming from different background, and it was pleasure experiences for me. However, the teaching methodology was too traditional, one way learning. I was expecting, students can be more proactive during the study.
