We were not required to learn Dutch. Classes were taught in English and English is spoken everywhere in Amsterdam.

it's sad to say-but there was no need to learn dutch-everyone speaks english, and all of the other international students only had a common language of english, plus dutch is IMPOSSIBLE to learn and they would speak english back at you if you tried to speak dutch

Museum Cards. They cost about 22 Euro but well worth it. They let you get into most of the Museums in Amsterdam for free, or a fraction of the price.

There were a lot of activities to do: parties for international students in the university, parties in private house, cruises on the canals, museums discounts, nice famous brown cafès and much more. The people there is fantastic! Friendly and open minded!
