Personal comments
I had great nights on Destiny and Elite, The Student Union and also in The Gate House. The city had its football team in the premiership when I lived there although the team was demoted. The pitch (Pride Park) is very modern so it's nice to watch the games there. There are also other amusing activities as visiting the Peack District which is quite close to the city.
