Don't buy a bedding pack from the University accommodation...they charge about 30 pounds...go to the pound stretcher or pound saver (they are on every corner) and get one for half of that money!!! there are tons of second hand stores around the university area...you can pretty much find anything you want.

Lidl. Its up on Nicholson and is the best supermarket you could ask for. Go there for all your grocery needs first and then if you are still missing some items go to Tesco.

When you're abroad you shouldn't sit at home because of money issues. try to do as much as possible and plan on spending more (especially traveling)

I spent more money in Edinburgh than i would have had in France because the UK is more expensive and because of a quite vibrant social life.

Food and eating were not important to me. I saved my money for a good night out on Friday and Saturday. I rarely used the phone and called collect to the states. My accomodation was cheap because I had so many roommates and paid for up front. Nightlife and travel was were I spent most of my money. While living on the British Isles I travelled to the continent of Europe quite a bit.
