Food is simply more expensive. Accomodation is more expensive because in my home country I live at home. Nightlife is more expensive both for food and for drinks. On the other hand, the amount of studies is very demanding and this makes nightlife more rare.

Go there. It's a good experience. But then you should have the opportunity to stay in England and to have another experience (studying or working experience)

In general I spent more in almost every categories because the cost of life was higher than in Italy. For the housing I use to live with my family in Italy, so it has been the highest cost.

Course recommendations
Uni Essex is not a top University so it has a so-so selection of courses available. It is easy to meet other international students because they comprise 40% of the student body.

Personal comments
University of Essex offers a boring and limited lifestyle which can become dull within the first three weeks of school. After that you end up wishing you had gone to a larger school with more interesting, intellectual people, a more varied social life and better entertainment options. Please come to University of Essex if you are a boring dull person.
