“Greatest 4 years of my life”
Mark R
Spain, Undergraduate
Marketing and Sales Management, 2020
Overall
The university's campus is beautiful, all of the facilities are very good and modern. Although, the main campus is built on a place that is very hilly. There are many university provided accomodations for first year students, but they differ greatly in quality. In my opinion, the best self-catered accomodation is Lafrowda because of its design as well as being in the ideal location on campus. All of the lecturers are hard-working individuals, who have a passion for their fields. In general, the city is not great however it has a large train station with access all over the country, and because it is mainly filled with students you barely even notice.

I wish I had known...
I wish I'd learned more about cooking before living in self-catering accommodation! But I made out all right -- I had kind Spanish and Italian friends. :)

(1) Unimportant – (4) Very important
Personal recommendation
I think that if you look for it, you can find a lot of things to complain about, but if you focus on the overall experience, you couldn't ask for a better place than Exeter. The student life is great, the countryside is beautiful, and the opportunities to travel are plentiful.

Final comments
One important bit of advice is to get a student rail and/or coach card as soon as possible! The train and bus fares are very expensive otherwise.

If I had personally to give some names of bars or discos, i would say "The Cavern"...but, that is all...this is one of the only places that is quite different from the others! There are lots of other places, but there quite all the same: pubs, and cheesey music discos!

No, it wasn't.

Personal comments
It's always interesting learning about the differences between American and British English. I had a few embarrassing moments, but generally people were pretty kind. The teachers are also fine with students using American spelling in their essays.
