Glasgow is full of nice pubs. A student association arranged pub nights for international students every thursday. The same association also arranged a lunch every thursday for international students. Trips in Scotland was also arranged quite often. The university had good sports facilities at the campus;swimming pool, squash, gym, aerobic, step, boxing, circuit training etc several times a day. And all this for only 20 pounds a year! There was also a lot of different students associations, for example the Mountaineering Club, a Diving Club etc.

Anyone staying in Glasgow should take advantage of it and travel as much in Scotland as possible. There are many clubs that you can join that organise weekend trips. Check your accommodation before you pay for it and make sure it is the closest available to the campus. Take advantage of the Sports Facilities! Joining the gym is very cheap and there are plenty of different activities you can do. They are the ebst facilities I have ever seen in a campus.

I'd say it's been extremely important for my independence. I had already lived abroad, or alone, but not facing everyday problems where you don't know anybody. I think it's an essential experience for everybody, especially for those who have to learn a language.

That's a good way to improve yourself, knowing a new culture and behave in a different environment.

As a summary I can say it was great time spent there for many reasons as mentioned before; perhaps too many advices could impression a student who is going to depart while I think it has to be explored also a bit on your own. The only advice I think is very useful is the departure period: on September you'll find less problems at finding accomodation.

For the accomodation, the best way is to use the university accomadation. You will share a flat, and so meet many peoples.

I think that every university should have an office or meeting room for erasmus student to help them with their studies and to do some councelling. Some of my friend had problems with their work because the level of the course was too high and did not know what to do: talk to the lecturer or the administrative staff??
