I would actually advice, even though sometimes it's very difficult, to go to the place and take a look there, without booking from your home country. Especially in Great Britain!! My house was extremely cold and in very bad conditions, but i could only do so and go there because the campuses accomodations usually accept you if you remain an entire year.

The department´s secretary booked for me my room in a bed&breakfast. I have no regreets. The place was next a supermarket, lots of shops, the underground, a park,.... Everything was excelent.
