Housing
Type of housing: hostel
Arranged by: Independently - My choice
If returning, I would choose: hostel
Why?
The location of the Hibernia hostel in Sliema was perfect and I was free to move. So I would prefer the same place. This hostel is like a campus, but one can live more individual.

I visited the University Residence myself and on first side it is very cosy with all the other students since you experience the same. On the other hand this residence is in Lija and a little out-of-the-way village. The housing is okay there. They clean regulary, but one has to respect their strickt house rules too.

If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why?
i would chose the same place as i think you meetmany more people if you live in university accomadtion. it made it very easy to make friends as many erasmus students lived in the same complex. the only problem was the price. it was very expensive in comparison to privately rented accomadation

I lived in University Residence because it was easier for me. You get to know loads of foreign students if you live there, but you can get cheaper and better location if you decide to find your own appartment.

University Residence is old. If you're lucky, you get a good appartment with nice roommates. If you're not... well... it might be better to move out before they make you pay the year accomodation.

You can find nice apartments with a view of the sea for cheaper than what I paid in the residence hall.

I think that it is a good idea to stay in the international residence hall if only staying in Malta for one semester. Although the living spaces are rather dirty and not very well maintained, the social experience with other foreigners and some maltese shouldn't be missed!!

As far as I have heard, the university residence needs to be improved in terms of computer facilities and other kinds of living necessities.
