arrived prepared , with a lot of energy and keep in mind that even if it is hard and uncommun compared to what you could know before, you learn a lot and not especially only at school. You learn a lot on yourself, on your abilities to live abroad and far away from you family and your environment. But if you can go abroad :: GOOOOOOO !!!

Housing
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Independently - I had no other choice
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why?
It is way better to live out of the campus. Renting a house/flat in the city of Winnipeg was a very good experience. It requires responsabilites but then you are more free to do whatever you want. You live independently and you have way more contacts with canadians than if you stay on the campus with international students.

in winnipeg you must visit the theatre and all the malls (st vital, polo park..) There is also a ballet theatre dowtown and a huge place called the conventional centre where some parties are done. There is also a court for golf, tennis... You should also go to The empire, for me it's the best night spot in Winnipeg.

you'll have to take the abonnement for the bus : it'll be cheaper to transit downtown . Prepare your budget very carefully cause you'll have to pay for insurance, books, furnitures.. in the very beginning of the year.

Personal spending habits
for food, I'm living in the university so there's meal plans for everyday : no need to go out to eat. For telephone, I don't call using the line but I buy some phone cards to call my family, it's cheaper. In another hand I have internet in my room that helps a lot.
