Americans have a low level of tolerance for people that do not speak much English however once you do they do not care at all whether you do it properly or not as long as they understand you. They will not correct you, even though you may ask them to do so, they will typically forget about it.

At the beggining it was kind of diffcult to understand the people because my level of english was not good, but now, i improved a lot, and i can understand pretty good.

Before going there I was able to translate nearly every economical paper but i couldn't say a word. Now it's becoming easier for me to communicate in english.
