Course recommendations
The Scandinavian Studies program is a great way to take courses in English and to meet other international students. If you want to meet Finnish students and see how the Finnish university system really works, try to take classes in the larger university as well.

It is somewhat difficult to arrange to take courses in English outside of the International program courses, but keep trying if you really want to take them.

There are very few tests or exams for the international-student courses. There is usually a 2-5 page paper for each course, but they are nothing big. Very little work--I loved it!

to try more in getting students really interested in what is taught. The courses itself are interesting, but the teaching style made your interest and excitement vanish; field excursions were really great!!!

There are a lot of courses at low/middle level, but a lack of advanced ones.
If you've already studied 3 or 4 years, you could have difficulties to find convenient courses.

Well nearly all my courses were given in finnish so I have to rent books from the main library (where the books are in english), and meet teachers to explain me some points of the courses.

The courses were not too bad, but did not add to my current knowledge. I was too far ahead already and the courses were actually of very little use to me.
