GREAT STAY
Elise M
France, Undergraduate
Translation/Interpretation, 2012
Overall
I really appreciated staying in Portsmouth: all was well-organised (the campus with canteen near to the flat or the kitchen you could share with other students ; the bus which came each hour or each 30 mn to pick you). This is the university were I saw the most motivated teachers (85 % of them were motivated), the last 15 % of them were normal. I took the program "English Studies" for one year during ERASMUS. They were foreign and English students, which was really great to improve English. The city is small but you feel welcomed here.

Pros
Student services, safe atmosphere of the city, motivated teachers
Cons
There is no canteen during holidays. The food is not always healthy or good but as it is England I guess this is normal

I wish I had known...
I wish I had known more about the british university system (courses and lectures, seminars, importance of presentations and quick tests/quizes, the way you write academic essays in the UK)

if you join the European Business Programme (EBP) you will go to Portsmouth, since the course of studies is INTEGRATED and features four semesters in Portsmouth. But also for other students I believe the Portsmouth Business School is recommendable.

Portsmouth has a very convenient location in South England: The Isle of Wight is there, London just an hour and a half away.

Best place to study Criminology
Ralitsa B
Malta, Graduate
, 2016
Overall
The University of Portsmouth is the best place to study criminology! It has the biggest criminology department within the United Kingdom with about 70 specialists in this particular field.
I'm grateful I've had the opportunity to finish my Bachelor's Degree in Criminology, and my Master's Degree in Criminal Psychologist, and having obtained my knowledge and skills from the best specialists within the field.

Be aware of the pronunciation differences between the british and american people. Once you're used to it is pretty conspicuous.
