I wanted to phone to my family and my friends in Belgium, so, the telephone expenses were quite high. I have already mentioned that the cost of accomodation was high. I went out more than in Belgium, as the nightlife in Reading was wonderful and I enjoyed it very much by meeting lots of students and local people.

I definitely think that United Kingdom is a very expensive country. Everything has a high price, and I think that the most inconvenient thing is that the cost of transportation is so high. The best cost-saving tip I can give is to get or buy a student card that allows you to benefit from lots of discounts concerning, for instance, transportation, travel, student activites, sport, etc.

The pound is more expensive than the dollar. The only category that I spent less in England was nightlife, because I go to New York City clubs and they are expensive. Reading is a small city, unlike New York and London, so I spent less on nightlife, but because of the pound-dollar comparison, more on everything else.

England is very expensive, so it is key to spend money on what you have to spend. When you are travelling, do not pay 15 pounds for a meal when you can spend 8 (that is 13 dollar difference!) A pound is $1.60, so always think how much it is yu are spending in dollars!

it's very easy to find a job there: try the JobShop or just go to the town centre and look for job vacancies (almost in every shop or store)

Try to save some money before coming. Use a bike instead of the public transport if you can to go to town
