Night Clubs: Area located near Piccadilly Square (Copacabana, etc). The area near the canal is also excellent. I'm sure that whatever your preferences you'll find a place that suits you.
Events: Try to go to a concert of a famous artist. Also try to go to a ManUtd football match.

If you like irish music, O'Sheas in princess street will offer you live music every night from 10pm to 1am.
You also must not miss the Gay Village night clubs. Finally don't forget to go in all the indian restaurant of Rushalm, they are really good.

There is nomore Hasienda, but you can find some good clubs elsewhere and as you know hottest places changes every year. In general Manchester have wide music scene:)
