The advantage of living in Bellville (and not Stellenbosch) was that we would go out both in Stellenbosch and in Cape Town...enjoying the best of each..quite great and extremely safe (safer than Brussels most of the times!).

Housing
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Independently - My choice
If returning, I would choose: On campus
Why?
It is important to note that the Business School is located on the MBA campus located in Bellville, not in Stellenbosch! Since Main Campus (=15.000 students) is there, Bellville is rather small.. Should have taken housing in Stellenbosch, with 30minutes driving (not much). This doesn't mean that nice places in Bellville can't be found (mine was absolutly great..with other exchange students, lots of fun) but wasn't like Campus life can be.

Academic
Course recommendations
I was following MBA classes and chose the classes I thought were best. Since I am only a graduate in Belgium, I was expecting more from this high level MBA..It all depends on your choice of classes actually, choose well!

Lots of academic papers to write by the end of the quarter. Very interesting to learn to do high level research papers. However, I would have enjoyed less papers to write and more interractions with teachers, such as oral exams...

Overall
I wish I had known...
1) The country is not dangerous, don't buy any bulletproof vest ;-)
2) The African culture has been mostly suppressed by the regime, very hard to get contact, don't hope to learn about African culture (unless you travel outside SA which I did)
3) Buying a car (not renting, even to a particular) is much cheaper
4) Saving money is crucial to allow for lots of travel opportunities
5) The Business School campus is not the same as the Main one..to have more student life, rent to Stellenbosch or Cape Town!

Final comments
I went to SA for the Travel, Culture and Fun parts. On Travel, came out EXTREMELY happy because met other people to travel with and did things would not have done alone. On Culture, was desappointed because the African culture doesn't show up easely. As for general infrastrucre, note that the Cape Town area really feels like San Francisco, it's great! As for the Social life, I was VERY happy too because I met some great people with whom I am keeping contact (3 months later, they are all coming to Brussels for the Week end!). Anyway..great travel, great life..enjoy!
