The temperature! We had an amazingly cold winter there (worst since 78 or something). Normally I do not care about that, but the cold weather really limited people in going out of there apartment, nobody wanted to go somewhere. This made thins a little boring.

You can definitely have fun at UVM! Interact with other students, and you will enjoy it. The countryside is very beautiful, and it is very easy (because it is close) to go to Canada. Especially Montreal is worth a trip, if you feel trapped in Burlington, go there, it is only two hours away. (They speak French there, but it is no problems getting around with English, many American kids go up there to drink anyway.)

That I would meet so many good friends, I would have lost some before going to make more there.

Don't get caught up spotting how different this is from home. That's why you go! It can for a few seconds get you down that there are strange rules that you don't have at home, but they are easy to get over. The only people who did not enjoy their time at UVM, were the ones that could not let go of the familiar, and wanted to have their hand held by the university all the time. Remember, some times you just have to role with the punches. My last rant now: come here and you will have fun.

I think the UVM was great. Not only the city - Burlington - has its own atmosphere (kind of hippie, lots of art etc.), but UVM as well. The courses were great, activities too. We were a nice group of international students. We had FUN!

I personally always wanted to go to Canada, and that came true. We made two trips there, one only to Montreal, which is an hour far from Burlington (bus is really affordable), second one to Quebec/Ottawa/Toronto. I have very nice memories.

The university is great. Some people who were used to live in big cities suffered.

Great university! Very Liberal! Very friendly people. There were some absurd rules on campus, such as alcohol ban on campus, yet one can learn to live with them.

I lived in Redstone Apartments, which were around USD 430 per month, which is normal for the Burlington area. The downstairs apartments are very small compared to the upstairs ones, and the walls are basically made of cardboard, you can hear your neigbours talking. Those apartments buildings are located close to the campus, so you can use the on campus bus, furniture is simple but ok, cleanliness depends on you and your roommates, but the building is not too old, so this is not the problem. Most of the international students live there.
