I also learned a lot about my own culture while studying abroad. I am from the West, and have lived here most of my life. This provided an oppurtunity to meet people from East coast schools as well. I will add, I plan to stay in the West, and was discouraged to travel to the East after being with the rather snotty and materialsic cohorts. At times I was ashamed to me an American in thier company. (huge stereotype-I know)
