Sweden is simply a very expensive country. the food is very expensive and so is the alcohol. Actually nothing is cheaper. Your social life is far more busy as weel then at home so you spent more. You also travel more to see something of the country, in Holland travelling with public transport is free if you study.

Food: In my home University we could have lunch and dinner for free, but in Sweden no. So i had to buy all the food. Telephone: i spent less because i was using skype a lot to communicate with the people in Greece and for communicating with the exchange students we had a really cheap offer. Housing: In Greece i don't have to pay a rent. Nightlife: The alcohol was more expensive in Sweden and we were going out really often. Travel: within the six mounths i was there i travelled quite a lot.

Overall things are more in expensive in Sweden. But through my university I had all the same prices for food and rent that I had at home. As far as travel is concerned, I took advantage of being in Europe and travelled as much as I could.Phone bills were obviously higher since I had to call overseas.

Nightlife: State controlled alcohol prices. Accommodation: overall higher standard of student accommodation.

THe food is pretty expensive in Sweden. Living in Paris, in accomodation is of course cheaper. Partying mostly every day a week is becoming expensive at the end.I'm travelling to see my parents and friends in France...In Sweden I staid on the campus, where there is everything you can need.

Sweden has a higher cost of living in everything than in Spain
