food, drinks and nightlife are definitly cheaper then back home, even though I went out more then I would have done back home. I live in a student dorm back home as well, but pay a bit more then a did in Vienna. The travel cost was higher mainly because I traveled all around eastern-europe, which I wouldn't have done a home. But the cost per trip was of course less then home.

The the financial suport from Erasmus( 131 Euro/month) was insufficient, it covered only less than 1?4 from the expenses and was paid mostly after my return in Romania
