The phone system in Germany is whacky, so it's a little more expensive than in the U.S. there is a charge for every call, local and long distance

Germany for Americans is the half price country. The only way to go broke is if you spend without caution. Everything there is cheap. Except the trains, travel can get expensive.

Tha Campus is located closed to the City Centre and the University. Bills were included in the monthly rate, therefore it was also cheep. There were a lot of students, expecially German people and it was very useful in order to improve my language skills.

For the first part of the semester, I lived in the "dorms" that the program placed me in. I chose to move out because I found I was surounded with Americans and wasn't doing much for my cultural development. (out of 8 people on my floor, only 1 was German!) I then moved into another dorm and that was much better.

Excellent, though a shame so much english spoken everywhere. People just lapsed into it. You were thought a bit annoying if you insisted on speaking german.
