Teachers at Avans are experts in their fields making sure you learn every course from a professional in the field. Therefore it is easier for the teachers to support the students

Honestly speaking, courses from Year 1 to 2 were decent in a sense. The learning curve might be significant during the same period in case you have basic knowledge or no knowledge at all with regard to business/economics/finance or related. After the 2nd year, the whole thing becomes a solid joke. Course organization becomes hilarious, some teachers are visibly there only due to their monthly paycheck, courses being redisigned during the course period leading to a mass chaos, changes in evaluation in the last moment, etc. Knowledge in the last two phases becomes deficit as all you work on is nonsense projects of imaginary companies, barely any information is given for these companies, you are not able to contact the same and so on. Obviously this creates a big gap between whats possible and what is not, making the entire piece one would write irrelevant and "IMAGINARY". One would not learn any technological advancements used in business nowadays as the education you would get is most probably outdated by 20 years. The only course you would get is excel, and to such extent, that you would only know the basic of it. At the final stage all you write is essays, reflections and other non-valuable papers. If you are being honest that you did not get much out of the certain course, then you would get a fail on your reflection. HOW CAN YOU GET A FAIL ON YOUR OWN REFLECTION?!?! Obviously, lying comes in place and tadummm, "PASS".
At the end of your education you would have basic business knowledge and if you succeed to get to find an internship your supervisor would be asking you "Did you study in a cave?". Yes, you got it right. Oh

Not to mention that most of the positive reviews on the web are paid and are written from the promo students who work part-time as such for AVANS.

Overall the entire course is not worth it ! Better spend 8k on Udemy courses, im sure you'd be better off. Not to mention the wasted time...

Avans was know as Noordbrabant Technisch School before it changed to its current name. Before and after the name change, it was embroiled in frauds under multiple occasions. One of the high-profile ones was know as "HBO fraude" cerca 2010 , well reported by the national media, while several other fraud cases were downplayed by the ministry of education, "for political reasons" I was told. These frauds come in different forms, but mostly centered around conning the generous Dutch government, while international and local students are their lateral damage.  Freiuniversitat of Amsterdam even wrote a paper about it! Granted Avans sometimes recruit responsible teachers and administrative staff, unfortunately they don't normally last for more than 2 years.

Avans has a professional PR team on payroll to salvage its image, however they can't fool everyone especially the locals who are in the known.

Den Bosch or Breda are totally fine to live in. Just don't go study at Avans! There are much darker stories regarding this school I won't reiterate them here, just ask around and be ready to be shocked.  Be wise. Linkedin, cold calls or just visits to locals will save you many regrets!

For Master degree in things going wrong😅

I graduated there in 2010. Terrible school overall, envy friends who simply decided to leave after attending it for less than one semester (lots of them). Its problems are well known among Dutch students, ask any of them at a party( especially after a beer) and they will spill the beans.  Some of them still go there as a cheap and easy getaway to do their MScs later(cost about 980 euro per year). About 10-15 %of them show up for classes.

Saving grace is majority of its facalty is friendly. On the other hand some of its students called some the teachers "wissen (witches)" within their hearing range as they were leaving or entering the room.

Wrote a review for it on Google map( we laughed about its many generic 5 star reviews that can be recycled for rating a park or a restaurant) 😁 :

A very intelligent guy I know from Eindhoven who is fluent in 7 languages went to Avans Den Bosch for 4 weeks in 2011, then he simply stopped going, calling its HBO (bachelor) program "Master degree in things going wrong and crisis management" 😅 . He also discovered that Avans Den Bosch received far above average number of complaints per number of students, some of them outrageous, even far worse experience than I had. The Dutch education ministry won't publish them, but have to provide info regarding them upon request according to Dutch laws. He ended up in TUe as he should have.

A student from China also told me also he planned on ditching Avans before finishing his first month when I returned to students apartment to collect some mails back in 2009.

I wonder how there are no negative reviews

I will try to be as brief as possible. Im most certain all reviews here are prompted by the "Promo students" office. I have been one myself. The administration basically makes you write positive reviews in certain websites to boost their marketing. Funny. Hypocrisy at its finest. I am not going to lie, I learned quite a lot. But i did not learn it from teachers (most of them at least). I learned it from books and external sources. This is an organization, where there is hierarchy. Most teachers are douchebags (excuse me for the word, its the most convenient though). Some of them are completely incompetent, but surprisingly have great self-esteem. Well... Great!. Some of them will evaluate you on personal bias, some of them are racist or xenophobic (its visible). By the 4th year you would be actually quite pissed and tired from all this. If you are stubborn enough, go for it. I would personally recommend you to do your best to go to a research university. Hope this comment will be posted... after all it is not as positive as the rest.
