The opportunity for speaking in class is not what I would wish it to be. Again, students need to push themselves to use Greek at every opportunity. The grammar and reading/writing portions of the course were the highest emphasis. After completing the course, I spent a week on a Greek farm with relatives who do not speak any English. This was far more valuable (as far as speaking in everyday situations) than the six-week grammar-focused course at the National University.

Thankfully, all the subjects were conducted in English. Therofore, I had no difficulties in understanding the instructions. ON the other hand, though I had to take the same exams as other students - which means I had no privilliges as other Erasmus students seem to experience

Courses at the law faculty are held in German, English and French for Erasmus students, It is a good opportunity to learn some legal terminology. Greek is a beautiful language and worth the effort. There are Erasmus courses in Modern Greek at the faculty of Pilosophy, 8 hrs per week, and absolutely worthwhile!

During my time in Greece I spoke first of all English (expecially with other Erasmus students), then Italian (with some friends and some teachers who worked in the Italian language department) and Greek (who some teachers and some people who didn't speak English). Anyway, I improved my English and I learned a basic Greece language.

The experience was fantastic, especially because I was studying classic languages, so I had the opportunity to improve and to exercise both English and French.
