Master of Arts in Human Rights

Overall
The MA in Human rights is an 18 months program. During the first semester which is the Winter semester, students take three compulsory courses which are 10 credits each; Human Rights Law, Human rights Philosophy and Politics of Human rights
Students have the option to pick four compulsory elective courses during the summer semester but also have a non-discrimination seminar which is mandatory. Students do individual and group presentations in each of these courses and seminars.

Pros
Provides extensive information to students and enough research materials, lecturers are friendly and not racists.
Cons
The entire cost of the program is 4900 euros and is a little expensive

The accomodation was very good. Most of it was in the centre of the town eg. the Alex, Hoffmann str., Henke str. But some student wohnheims were out of the centre like hartmannstr.

Before leaving to Germany, I did not have many problems with the German language, therefore I was at ease during my academic year. Also, since I worked during 3 consecutive summers in German-speaking countries, I was able to raise my level of German.

every day things are very cheap eg food. also nightlife and accomodation is cheap. Obviously I spent alot of money on flights going back and forth to ireland

Although it was great to have so many other erasmus students, it was difficult because certain people wished to speak english all the time. Also i started to speak german with a spanish accent after a while. but it is hard to get to know locals.

An apartment closer to the city would have been better then living in a hostel on the out-skirts of town.
