Most things were cheaper in Göttingen than they are in Uppsala. I spent about the same amount of money on food in Göttingen with the modification that I got a lot better value for monay in Göttingen than I would have got here.

Make archives and libraries more accessible for international students. Make the university archives more accessible in general - when I was there, these archives were open for perhaps 3 hours per day, and nothing was particularly well-indexed. The staff at the university archives were also profoundly unhelpful.

If you are going to be using archival materials, be sure to have a letter (or letters) of introduction sent beforehand, and bring copies of the letters and your passport to the archives before starting out.

I'm still impressed.I did'n know good german and german is really hard.My Erasmus language course was useful.Then my social life was naturally really important.Better as thousand language-courses.I could'nt speak (and understand!) such a good german without my experience.
