it was difficult at the beginning because they speak dutch and not english.

Most of what you need is already there, so pack light and be ready to have an awesome experience.

Final comments

I would only go out thurs, fri, sat.. maybe an occational wed dive bar... take the night bus, not cabs...take advantage of the awesome music scene here...much of what is free. School is ok, but mainly just to meet other students. Most of the other program kids on AIFS are whack, so it's a good opportunity to meet lots of Europeans. HAVE FUN!
