I wish I had known...
I wish I had known the place where the university was located was so small. In the beginning it was a little hard not to get bored and miss home because the town was really tiny and there was nothing much to do if you didn´t have any friends there.

It should be located in a different place. The teaching is really good, but the place is just too small, especially for someone who comes from a big city like me.

I guess it´s better to go there in the winter semester (unlike me), because it´s easier to integrate with the locals (since everybody is starting from scratch and wants to meet people).

Administration, Dekanen und Kommilitonen
anonymous
Germany,
Translation/Interpretation, 2023
Overall

Studying in Mainz
Alina K
Germany, Undergraduate
Psychology and Behavioural Sciences, 2022
Overall
Beeing a university city, Mainz offers a lot of different study programs. It has a huge campus located close to the inner city. Many different libraries/ cafeterias, lots of activities besides studying. Since its a city with many students it can be hard to find an accomadation. Most of the professors are really good, but Quality of classes can vary.

Nice university
Clara P
Germany, Graduate
Public Relations / Publicity / Advertising, 2020
Overall
The JGU has a nice campus area with cheap food available in the cafeterias. The media studies department has a great tradition there is well-known in Germany and Europe even. The courses are practice-oriented and the professors are rather young, which is good in my opinion because they focus on new developments in the field.
