The language of instruction and the local language at my host university were the same. I had quite a few opportunities to practice my German, although English was dominant, because they were a lot of foreign students whose German wasn´t that good. Overall, though, I think my time abroad was very positive for my language and communication experience, and my fluency in German increased noticeably during the stay.

Found some locals eager to practice their English when they spotted a foreigner! But overall, very pleasurable. Locals never made you feel uneasy and were very patient in difficult situations.
