The administration and students do a lot to make foreign students feel at home. However some students made the mistake of frequenting only other exchange students. I think that besides integrating into the university exchange student life it is equally important, and maybe more enriching, to make an effort to integrate into normal Italian life. So become friends with Italians in and out of the university; this is the best way to get to know the richness and diversity of the Italian cultures.

Do not limit your experience to the university life. This is a great occasion to get to know Italy and its culture. My main advice is to travel! Rome is very close other beautiful regions such as Tuscany, Umbria and Naples (do not miss a visit to Pompei, Capri and the Amalfi Coast)

Luiss university has an international atmosphere. It is highly reputed in Italy & offers a wide range of information & access points to leading international companies. The student committee works permanently to provide ongoing social activities. The university grounds are also very attractive!

A year not to be missed! Educationally interesting but culturally awsome! Travel to the fullest-trains are both very economical and available. Always have a written contract for accomodation - legal documentation is 100% to your personal benefit so know your rights and entitlements! Be aware of pharmacy opening hours; sundays often rotate business.

Housing
Type of housing: A room exchange
Arranged by: Independently - My choice
If returning, I would choose: A room exchange
Why?
Personal comments
The LUISS has got an agreement with the CTS organization which finds an accommodation to every foreign students of the university. It is totaly different for the students of the others universities (for example La Sapienza) of Rome. And it's very difficult to find a room alone in Rome.

Don`t start studying too late and make sure you always attend the (obligatory) lectures. Make sure, you have a good level of Italian before going.

Best living area for students is around Piazza Bologna. If you get to Rome one month in advance of the semester start, there will be lots of room notices up on the black board! Many Italians share rooms, as accomodation is rather expensive.
