it is most important to practice. the problem is when other erasmus students only speak different languages (English) because it's easier

I've worked before in Italy - so language was not that of a problem - it helped for technical terms though to attend university there

I would have learnt a lot more Italian, but the courses and most of my exchange friends spoke English, and when Italians realized that I was not Italian, they switched to English as well.
