“Amazing teaching, pity about..........”

Overall
I can’t say enough positive things about the teaching, courses and educators at Leeds Met. However, the administrators and management made the (in the students’ opinion) poor decision to spend an enormous sum on renaming and rebranding the university. We were really disappointed that the huge fees we paid were not reinvested into the student experience but instead spent on unecessary rebranding. However, like I say, the teaching staff are incredible and will never be matched!

“Overall good course but lacking in some areas”
Megan G
United Kingdom, Graduate
Sports, 2021
Overall
The course was interesting, most lecturers helpful but during COVID they did not make the most of online learning and as a result reduced my overall experience. Without online lectures/seminars I would have rated it more highly due to the huge number of activities and experiences on campus.

It would be an advantage if you went there before school starts and spend some time at finding a good accomodation, either private or at campus. A lot easier when you arrive with a lot of luggage. Contact the student union, they will help you.

Housing
Type of housing: Off campus university residence
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why?
There are plenty of accommodations around 1km radius of the university, and it is nearly as good as the off-campus university residence.

Personal comments
The security of the off-campus university residence is excellent, and shops are within close reach. Facilities are excellent... but the location of this accommodation is quite far from the university, and you will have to track uphill if you decided to go on foot. No doubt there is a bus service linking directly with the university, but the timing was quite limited then. Overall, the standar of accommodation is much better than on-campus.

Personal comments
I have been learning English for years. I thought that when I went to an English speaking country I would understand many things. However, this did not happen. At first, it was really dissapointing because I could not understand people in the street, but I could understand teachers. So, Ihad to get used to asking for things many times because did not understand what I was being told. Moreover, english people in general did not make any effort to make us understand what they were saying.
Nevertheless, in the end, I managed to understand real English1

emphasis on course structure, not necessarily that there need to be a large no. of modules. student should get some sort of benefit. No. of modules should be reduced & accordingly timing on each module need to be increased.
