Mälardalens Högskola (MDH)

The course I was enrolled in was designed for students with 1-2 years of previous Swedish language instruction. I had only one year of experience and was shocked when I learned that all of the other international students taking the course had more than 4 years of experience. I found that it was a more advanced course than I was ready for, so I recommend you have at least 3 years of experience behind you before you sign up. The experience would have been much more educational if I had been at the same level of my peers.

Unfortunately, I was accidentily left off of the email messages sent to the international students regarding activities and events planned for us. So, during my stay, I missed out of many fun events that would have given me many more opportunities to interact with the other international students and local students. Therefore, I suggest that if you study abroad anywhere, make sure you find out if there are activities planned for international students. And if there are, attend them! Also, as stated above, I would suggest you have at least 3 years of language instruction before attending this program.

The university is going through major restructuring and building projects at the moment. Work is still being done on various of its buildings. This is causing some disturbances, and general confusion amongst staff and students alike. Generally the planning that has been carried out left a lot to be desired, but may improve considerally in the near future. Many courses to choose from, but most are in swedish! Most internationally related courses are given in english as well.

I have participated in 3 courses here, but didn't have to do any exams! All assesment of my work was done through essays and projects and most of that was carried out in groups. Its hard to tell if the teachers have a good notion of your standpoint or not, and avoiding serious personal evaluation should be fairly easy.

Dont take Intermediate Microeconomics teacher is jurk. some courses were without final exam but it has home examination, international busines is hard if u like nightlife:D all courses with christos papachristodoluo is great he is good teacher and he writes good marks.

We had a lot of seminars, exams was on the end of courses some were hard some easy, i heard some courses had no final exam, but it was not easy to write essays for them, mostely all work in groups of 4 person.

Too theoritical, some request you to read a whole book in weeks time

Although most courses are exciting and draw curiousity, the theoritical aspects should be balanced with practical approach assignments and examples

All teachers I had contact to, left a very sophisticated impression on me. They were nice to talk to and always had an "open ear" for problems and were helpful searching alternatives or ways to solve problems.

the interaction with local students was quite difficult due to their "close" culture, they are too cold...

Some of the courses were too easy, I mean, just writting a kind of project you could succed. Anyway, must of the courses were really interesting and with lot of semminars.
