Groceries and nightlife expenses cost a little more in Sweden than they do in the US. The phone bills were higher there because I was calling internationally.

Be prepared to pay a (US)$500 deposit in order to get phone service in your home/apartment. That large deposit is required for international customers and is returned when you close your account and all bills are paid.

There is a monopol on selling alcohol in Sweden = more expensive (incl. nightlife). Denmark and Sweden are both quite expensive countries to live in! Mobile phone rates are high in Sweden, not much competition I guess...

The cheapest places to buy food are often outside the town centers. Students get discounts on public transportation and even food items! Remember to ask in the store...

It worth to have a colser look at the shops. The prices of the items they sell can change from time to time. It is a kind of challenge to find the cheapest solution.
