Middle Eastern Technical University (METU)

METU is one of the best universities in Turkey and I am proud of being a student at METU. I am always feeling the difference of my university in both Turkey and in Poland during my Erasmus. The campus of METU is very huge and we live as if in our own village. As I mentioned, while we are in METU campus, we feel like we are not in Turkey or Ankara because we feel the freedom of anything in our campus. Teachers are well chosen but students in these years are not really willing to study and improve themselves. The service in my school also is not perfect but enough.

Actually, in this university, I met a lot of people with various backgrounds, not only from Turkey but from all around the world. I think my campus life really influenced my personality from a positive perspective. In addition to the education quality in spite of around 25k students, I felt free and refreshed every year that I spent here. In terms of psychology education, I can say that we mostly focused on writing research proposals, and data analyses as most of the research universities do. Thus, I learned a lot about R, SPSS, and the literature of psychology in almost every subfield.

If you aim to come here don't forget that it is not easy. Lecturers are mostly not merciful to lazy students, you may have to spend your nights in the library. But students chill in the campus a lot after exams. It has the 2nd biggest campus in Turkey and no doubt you will enjoy university life here. There are also a lot of student clubs.

the departmant of chemical engineering can be toughest departmant in our school if you are not capable of doing physics and mathematics. teachers can be troubsome sometimes and the homeworks are given for each departmant lesson. you need to study a lot id you want to achieve high grades but noone can guarantee you good grades even if you know all the concept. it is a scary departmant who doens't like studying too much and gives up quickly.

METU is considered the best university in Turkey by many ranking institutions. It is most famous for its engineering departments. I study at Business Administration department. The professors are of good quality. The courses are relatively hard, however of couse it depends on the courses. We are usually assigned many homework and also midterm exams before finals. The university has a big campus and green areas which is very nice.
