Because, although the location of the Hall of Residence was great and the athmosphere and people there even better, the place was in not very good conditions.

Personal comments
My personal opinion is that the Hall of Residence needs a very strong economic investment to improve the conditions of the students living there.
Besides, it was necessary to book your room with a long time in advance, to have a minimum guarantee of having a place to live when arriving at Milan. Some mates had problems in this aspect.
Anyway, the Erasmus experience is great, no matter the accomodation!

Very cheap (155€/month). Very difficult to get a room, be sure to book REALLY in advance otherwise you may not find a place there, and trust me: that's The place where you will want to be.
