The tuition is a bit expensive but it does include many trips and other student activities. The campus is very small so there is a bit of a high school feeling to it, which may be annoying at times. But the teachers are very helpful and I met some of the best friends there.

My best advice is to TRAVEL! Save your money and make sure you get to see the country. Instead of spending it all at the bars, save some for a day trip. There is so much to see and experience, things you cannot learn in a book. Also, be open-minded and learn to appreciate the different cultures. Even though something is different doesn't always mean it is not as good or wrong.

I personally think Suffolk is a great place to come if u only want a ONE semester study abroad experience. It's a very lay back atmosphere, and school work is not a huge concern. Although the organization at the university is not the best, you will have a great time traveling and getting to know the other people in the program. I thought the other students were great.

The only real financial bind I got caught up in was coming home and being charged with the extra bag. Be careful so you can actually make it on the plane.

I wish I had known...
I wish I knew how much I would have liked it, because I would have planned out a way to spend another semester, if not 2 more semesters there.

Overall I had a great experience. Their is a lot of support at the University. It is a very big adjustment and they offer a lot of guidence and support throughout your stay. The academics were good, as I mentioned previously I would take as many Spanish related courses as possible and leave your business/or whatever your major area of study is (unless it is Spanish!) to your home campus. I would deffinitley recomend this University. Overall I had an amazing experience.

Travel as much as possible in Spain, it is a beatiful country with a great history. Travel over night and sleep on the bus/train, and when you wake up you are at your destination in the morning and ready to start your day! Research hostels and read the reviews, (there are several books you can buy that have hostel guides) they are very inexpensive and if you do enough research you can find a hostel that is as nice a hotel and far cheaper.

The only thing I wished before going was to bring more clothes. I literally wore the same thing each week. It sucked. Other then that, no.

I had the best four months of my life. I recommend this program for any college student who wants a change of scenery and wants to learn a new language, travel, or see some different in their life. Life is too short to stay in the same place. Go out and enjoy a new environment. Be careful not being a victim of vandalism. Watch your stuff and keep your American attitudes in America. Blend in with the Spanish people and have fun.

Language of instruction: Spanish
Was learning Spanish a key decision factor?

Personal comments
Well, one thing I want to clarify is that the classes at my host university were mixed. Some were in Spanish and some in English, but it was good because the teachers emphasized the importance of speaking Spanish and encouraged it. It was really great the way they handled the language barriers.
