I already had an extensive knowledge of spanish so it is hard to see a real progression. however, i have learned more local madrileño slang and mannerisms as well as more confidence when i speak.

Before living in Madrid, I had a good but very theoretical knowledge of spanish. But in less than 3 months, you can manage yourself in all the situations and you speak almost de puta madre ;-)

Having had prior experience in Spanish, I felt comfortable using the language and only ran into the occasional difficulty in the classroom which was resolved with a dictionary at my side.

I already felt at ease speaking Spanish before going to Madrid, but living with Spanish people, I 've become fluent in Spanish.(I learnt more with my roomates than at the university...)
