To go out in the night, Karma, Old Fashion Cafe, Bar Bianco, Shocking.
For "aperitivo": Nabu (Aramani's Cafe), TRattoria Toscana.
The ice cream and crepes places in the Navigli and Corso di Porta Ticincese are places not be missed!

Languages
Language of instruction: Italian
Was learning Italian a key decision factor?
Yes, I wanted to improve my Italian
How much did you improve your Italian?

My level after: No problems in any areas (including slang)
Language difficulties

Personal comments
I studied Italian for two years at UCLA before going to Italy in the first place. I was very happy to be able to go to Italy itself and really learn the language, like it is supposed to be learned. A very worthwhile experience.

Housing
Type of housing: Residence Hall
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why?
It's cheaper and you can get way better deals. Of course it's harder for you to get to know people but you just gotta make an extra effort.

Personal comments
Make sure you sort something out in advance or that you arrive a couple weeks beforehand in order to look for something nice. If you can't do this I would go with university accomodation but make sure you don't stay at Kramer.
