Students have to arrange their accomodation themselves immediately after the arrival, so it's helpful to get some information in advance. but then there is no problem to find a suitable accommodation.

Even though the language environment and communicational philosophy in China are rather different from those in western Europe, being polite and open- minded(acceptive) is appreciated everywhere. Personally, I would say that in my host university, I've experienced a lot, and learned a lot.

Louvain-la-Neuve is a city a young city and a city for mainly built for students. The students of Louvain-la-Neuve have developped their own "studen-culture" which means it can happen that people just play drums at 3 AM in the morning in front of the Grand-Place. So be prepared to face that challenge!

When you first arrive go to Kot Erasmus. There you'll find a group of students that help Erasmus students on their first days. You can even sleep there the first nights. Most likely you'll find other Erasmus students in the same situation. You'll make your first friends right there. Also, arrange your housing with the University as soon as you know you'll be going there, otherwise it will be more and more difficult.
