It was easy to communicate within the university as a strong emphasis was placed on International students. Outside the university, there were a few problems but confidence grew over time

Most of the people try to speak english when they discover that you are a foreigner. I never felt confident with my knowledge of the french language although I thought I did really well.

I chose two language courses in French. One course thaught by the head of the institute of French was excellent. It was the most and maybe the only completely satisfying course I attended in Paris. Through this education I was able to improve my French skills sharply. The communication with other students was rather easy and it was fun. In fact, the improvement of language was the only positive aspect in relation to academic education at DAUPHINE.

Living in a foreign country is the only way to really understand and perfect the language. Studying in France was the best thing I ever did for improving my French skills

If you try to explain yourself in French they will very politely try to help you as far as possible although French administration is a horror! Keep cool & wait!
