“Université de Grenoble”
Arthur S
France,
Economics, 2024
Overall
Best university of the region, Grenoble and its campus will offer you a lot of opportunities in many fields. Very accessible by any transportation (tramway, bike, bus...). This is a human-sized city with mountains near if you enjoy snow and skiing you also have "students offers" to have some fun during your day off. Also the courses are very good, but be careful international students sometimes the english level of teachers is not very high and you might struggle. You HAVE to learn a bit of french before you come in Grenoble.

Housing
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Independently - My choice
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why?
Can be quite easy as an Erasmus student to just stick with Erasmus students, this was a really good way to meet French students and make sure i was speaking French.

Personal comments
On campus accomodation is arranged, pretty basic but had friends living there so it was good to meet other students. Staying in Residence Ouest, the best on campus accomodation - one tram stop down from the university.
Houses/Apts can be organised through Crous v dependent on your budget and can send you to some dodgey areas.
I found mine through luck, a billboard sign and was lucky that my housemates turned out to be really nice as with houses anywhere. Facilites are basic. As basement apt it did have its cockroaches. Always try to live at least a floor, if not two floors up.
