When you go to Spain you must see some other parts of the country during you stay, because Spain is a big country and culture and habits varie a lot depending on the area. Me and my roommates rented a car for a week and went through five cities in the south, I´ll never forget that trip

Go there and be wise. But remember to become wise you need to STUDY and this on your own and not at the university. In other word the university is a good framework, but the materia you need to learn by yourself.

I really can recommand this university to study abroad. The only thing which is negative in my opinion are the computers (really bad) and the Catalan language.

In general I´m really satisfied by chosing this university. You learn a lot, and for example I am in a class of 13 people, with 10 different nationalities! You learn so much of that for your further national career, you can´t express it in words. About traveling, it is a bit expensive to travel whole Spain, but really worth it! Try to have an advanced level of your Spanish before you come here.

Course recommendations
No real recommendations - we were allowed to take classes outside of the program specially designated for the U of I/U of C students. This posed a problem sometimes as the classes were in Catalan and not Castellano - but people also learned Catalan in order to take some of the classes .....I really enjoyed the classes within our program as they were interesting and geared for the foreign student - (but still all in Spanish)

Computers were hard to come by and the ones that were available didn't always work that great - but I understand that they don't always have the facilities we do in the US in other countries....

Academic
Course recommendations
The thing is that the method of evaluation is very diffrent from my home country. In Spain they don´t have tests, homework, projects, essays, presentations throught out the semester course. They just have one closed multiple choice final exam and depending in what you get in the test is what your grade is. I personally dont think the a single closed test can evaluate everything you learned through out the course.

I would suggest that there should be homework, projects, presentations, tests through out the course that evaluate in different percentages what we learn, instead of only one single closed exam at the end.

Travelling by coach is much cheaper than by train; if you like riding your bike, barcelona has some beatiful and very clean and protected bike lanes!! (I cannot live without my bike!)
