In the end i coped pretty well with spanish. The University made us follow some language courses for foreign students

Barcelona is difficult because the majority of the population speaks Catalan, which is another language than Spanish

I wanted to learn spanish and the fact that the official language in barcelona is catalan sometimes was an obstacle

The language at the University is Spanish and English. But most of the locals speak Catalan. Living in Barcelona was a great way to improve both Spanish and Catalan! Now I'm trilingual!

It wasnt hard at all for me as im a native portuguese speaker. also, i took an advanced level course of spanish in order to improve it even more - which was more worthy than uni itself.
