“A great overall experience with some flaws”
Martin K
Espagne, Master
Gestion d'entreprise, 2017
Évaluation globale
I studied Accounting & Finance at the Business School and while I do not regret it, there is space for improvement. The course was being reorganised and there were not many accounting courses to choose from, making the course not much more different from the Finance course. The quality of teachers varied as did the quality of the courses - some were very basic while others were well balanced. Unfortunately, my course was not very balanced in terms of participants, resulting in a quota of 70% Chinese students which were not very collaborative or eager to engage in conversations. This resulted in frustrations from some of the teachers as well as from the students and a discussion in the small groups which should be essential in a Master programme did not really take place. Also, compared to the other courses there seems to be less money for value as other courses undertook great trips to London or even to Frankfurt while our programme only did local ones.
Edinburgh itself is of course marvelous and while the weather in winter can be sometimes a bit harsh, it is definetively less rainy than assumed and I had a great time. There is a great startup and tech scene.
