I don't live in a university owned accomodation but in the private sector. Yet, the university has provided me with a list of private sector accomodations which standard are constantly checked by the University and the quality is satisfactory.

1. there are always offers. from food to clothing you can find some, so I guess a way of saving money is to be aware of what shop has offers. 2. get a student discount card (NUS), you will save up to 20 % on selected shops.

Personal Experience

Overall
As a student at the University of Essex, I can confidently say that it has been a fantastic experience. From the first day of orientation to now, I have felt supported and encouraged to pursue my academic and personal goals.

The academic programs are rigorous and challenging, but the professors are incredibly knowledgeable and approachable. They are always willing to answer questions and offer support when needed. The university also has a great range of resources to help students succeed, such as the library, study spaces, and academic support services.

One of the things I appreciate most about the University of Essex is its diversity. The campus is home to a diverse student body from all around the world, which creates a welcoming and inclusive community. There are also plenty of opportunities to get involved in clubs and societies, which is a great way to meet new people and try new things.

The university has a very helpful community and very diverse. You will have oppotunities to try new sports and start new projects. I found it very easy to commute, Colchester is located an hour away from London by train and much closer to other town. I personally really enjoy the nice green environment and the country side walks.

Humanities courses have linear exams, and having exams halfway through the year or at the end of Autumn Term half-modules would be better. Essay questions were interesting and marked within 3 weeks. All teachers offer office hours and encourage feedback on lessons.
