Besides of me being older than most other students in the residence hall and the fact that I was used to living by myself it was actually Ok.

It is somewhat cheaper and way more convenient to live off campus. in addition you can bring and do what you want. there are only few single rooms in dorms, esppecially for students in their first semester at the uiowa.

Mayflower Hall had amazing facilities, a 24hour computer centre right outside your door and a picnic, bbq and skate park right on the river across the road.
