Be aware that public transportation is fairly limited outside of the downtown area, so if you need to go grocery shopping, for instance, and you don't have a car, you will need to plan ahead.

I have studied English (combined with international studies) so English as a language of instruction was not really new to me. I did not really experience any difficulties at any point, but my stay in the US did of course further improve my skills in speech as well as in writing.

Having lived in my own apartment prior to my semester abroad, it was a bit hard for me getting used to sharing my living space with someone else like you will often do in an American dormitory.
