My English improved so much during my internship in Australia. When I came back to Belgium, my friends and my English teacher were impressed of my accent (used to have a french accent) and my fluency.

It's not difficult to understand australian accent as fas as they are highly educated. However, 1-2% of lecturers speak very australian and thereby very difficult to understand

Singpore's first language is English, so I did not have problems. THe only difficulty was in getting to know Australian television, which was part of my studies anyway.

Hearing the aussie accent all day every day was one of the best language experiences... The Aussies are really social and out going so no worries there mate !

Since i arrived in Australia i did not have any problem. By the way you can even learn during the studying period or be a member of the language skills club
